Your mission

At Bitpanda, security is the backbone that enables innovation and trust. As Head of Security, you will lead the overall security organization, including the Security Operations, Cloud Security, Product Security, and Security Engineering teams.

Your mission is to define and execute a unified security strategy that protects Bitpanda's platform, customers, and data — while enabling agility and growth. You'll be responsible for aligning goals, fostering collaboration across security functions, and ensuring that Bitpanda maintains a world-class security posture across technology, processes, and people.

  • Lead the Security Organization: Oversee and mentor the members of Security Operations, Cloud Security, Product Security, and Security Engineering. Build a cohesive, high-performing security culture across teams. Define a company-wide security vision and roadmap. Align goals, KPIs, and initiatives across security teams to ensure clarity of direction and efficient execution.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between security and other key departments such as Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and IT. Ensure security is integrated into design, development, and operations.
  • Oversee Security Operations: Ensure effective threat detection, response, and prevention through the Security Operations department, encompassing IT Security, monitoring, incident response, and awareness programs. Guide teams to continuously improve the security of Bitpanda's cloud-native infrastructure and products, embedding secure-by-design principles throughout the SDLC.
  • Ensure Regulatory and Audit Readiness: Maintain alignment with relevant frameworks (e.g., DORA, ISO27001, SOC2, NIST, CIS) and support audits and compliance activities. Define key metrics to assess maturity and performance across all domains, and communicate progress to executive leadership. Monitor emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes, ensuring Bitpanda remains secure, resilient, and compliant in a fast-evolving landscape.
  • Empower and Grow Talent: Develop the leaders within your organization, promote cross-team knowledge sharing, and foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

  • 8+ years of experience in information or cyber security, with at least 3+ years in a leadership position managing multiple security functions with a proven ability to build and scale security organizations in fast-paced, regulated, or cloud-first technology environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud, product, and operational security, combined with familiarity in risk management and compliance frameworks (DORA, ISO27001, SOC2, NIST).

Your mission:

As an AML & KYC Operations Associate at Bitpanda, your mission is to actively contribute to the mitigation of money laundering and terrorist financing risks. You will ensure compliance with applicable regulations in the anti-financial crime field, demonstrating a strong commitment to preventing financial crimes perpetrated within the cryptocurrency environment. You possess a robust problem-solving and customer-oriented mindset.


  • Onboard retail clients in accordance with European and British AML regulatory requirements. This includes providing constructive feedback to external Identity & Verification (ID&V) providers, remediating detected issues, and preparing comprehensive internal reports.
  • Perform day-to-day reviews for Source of Funds (SoF) and/or Source of Wealth (SoW), primarily focusing on fiat transactions and low-risk customers. You will diligently oversee customers' financial activities and identify any potential red flags on users' accounts.
  • Analyze retail users' financial data and their provided explanations. You will directly interact with customers to request any necessary additional documents.
  • Conduct regular transaction monitoring reviews to assess if a follow-up PoF/PoW is required, always balancing the overall customer experience with strict adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Education: University degree in Economics, Finance, or Law.
  • Skills: Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated interest in AML regulation (e.g., the AML Directives, the FM-GwG, the ESAs AML/CFT Guidelines) with a comprehensive understanding of different financial crime patterns and the broader AML/CFT landscape.

This includes supplying noble gasses such as Helium, Nitrogen in bottle form and liquid form to our laboratory facilities and groups, waste disposal and autoclaving for the areas of biology, chemistry and physics.   • Functionality checks and maintenance of basic laboratory equipment
  • Supply of laboratories with technical gases (exchange of pressurized gas bottles and refilling of liquid nitrogen tanks)
  • Disposal of hazardous laboratory waste (including inactivation of biological waste)
  • Receipt of goods, such as dry ice, and interaction with contractors

  • Extensive expertise with Kubernetes, cloud native solutions, GitOps and CICD topics

  • Selbständiges Telefonieren mit zur Verfügung gestellten Leitfäden
  • Spender* über aktuelle Projekte informieren
  • Gewinnen von regelmäßigen Spendengeldern
  • Erfassung der Gesprächsergebnisse

  • Freude mit Spendern* zu telefonieren
  • Angenehme Telefonstimme, höfliche, sprachlich einwandfreie Ausdrucksweise
  • hervorragende Deutschkenntnisse (Telefonmarketing-Erfahrung von Vorteil), sowie PC-Grundkenntnisse
  • Leistungsbereitschaft zur Zielerreichung
  • Sie sind zeitlich flexibel, Schichtdienst Mo – Fr: Vormittag- und Nachmittagschichten sollen wahrgenommen werden können; kein Wochenenddienst!
