The impact you'll make
In this role, you will directly influence Lam's ability to meet customer commitments, optimize global manufacturing capacity, and execute reliably in a dynamic and highly constrained environment. By owning and governing the global Build Plan, you will:
- Enable predictable execution by providing a single, trusted plan of record that aligns demand, capacity, material readiness, and constraints across the global network
- Proactively protect delivery performance by identifying structural risks early and driving timely mitigation actions before they impact execution
- Improve capital and capacity efficiency through optimized site loading, volume and mix allocation, and disciplined trade‑off decisions
- Strengthen global planning maturity by driving standardization, governance, and rigor within the S&OP and planning processes
- Increase organizational confidence in the plan through data integrity, transparency, and clear rationale behind all Build Plan decisions
Your work ensures that Lam's global manufacturing network is positioned to respond effectively to shifting demand, product complexity, and industry volatility, while maintaining operational stability and long‑term scalability.
What you'll do
The Build Plan Manager (BPM) owns the global Build Plan across Lam's manufacturing network, ensuring that demand, capacity, material readiness, and site allocation are structurally aligned to enable stable, feasible, and scalable execution. Operating at the mid‑ to long‑term planning horizon, the BPM translates demand signals, corporate priorities, financial objectives, and operational constraints into a coherent and executable global build plan across multiple sites and regions.
This role is critical to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and operates at the intersection of Global Production Planning and Capacity Planning, while engaging with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales Operations, Logistics, and Inventory & Product Groups. The BPM ensures demand and financial objectives are translated into an executable production strategy that the global manufacturing network can reliably deliver.
The BPM is accountable for shaping the build strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating structural and systemic risks, maintaining planning data integrity, and driving global standardization and continuous improvement. The role serves as a central governance point between planning and execution, ensuring that downstream operations are enabled by a stable, credible, and well‑governed plan.
Success in this role requires strong strategic judgment, deep analytical capability, and the ability to influence decisions across functions and geographies. The BPM must balance competing priorities, make informed trade‑offs, and clearly communicate the implications of planning decisions to protect delivery commitments, optimize capacity, and support long‑term scalability.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain planning in a global environment
- Strong understanding of S&OP, capacity planning, and production planning frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to manage plans in highly constrained, fast‑changing environments
- Experience with enterprise planning systems and data tools (e.g., SAP, CRM, Kinaxis, Power BI, Microsoft applications)
- APICS / ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
- Strategic thinker with strong business and financial acumen
- Highly analytical and data‑driven, with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable making and defending trade‑off decisions under ambiguity
- Strong influencer with the ability to align diverse stakeholders globally
- Resilient and adaptable in environments with frequent change and competing priorities
- High accountability, ownership mindset, and commitment to quality and execution excellence
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for building scalable, disciplined planning processes
