As Civil Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team to execute projects crucial to decarbonization of Vienna by 2040, such as:

  • Modernisation of existing energy generation facilities (e.g. upgrading a waste incineration plant on the basis of the circular economy)
  • Construction of new alternative energy generation plants (e.g. large heat pumps, geothermal, wind farms)
  • Hydrogen production or application (e.g. construction of hydrogen production facilities)
  • Combined generation plants for heating and cooling energy as well as electricity (e.g. either construction or modernisation of existing plant for combined generation of electricity, heating and cooling energy such as natural gas and renewable energy sources)
  • Waste processing and management (e.g. construction of recycling plants, plants for the treatment of sewage sludge and phosphorus recovery).Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Design new buildings and infrastructures to accommodate energy plants and facilities contributing to the energy transition and the circular economy.
  • Adapt existing buildings and infrastructures for energy plants and facilities contributing to the energy transition and the circular economy.Ensure compliance with local building codes (Bauordnung für Wien), regulations, and environmental standards and coordinate with regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits.
  • Cover all project phases (concept design, preliminary design, procurement, supervision of detail design, site supervision and commissioning).
  • Elaborate project deliverables (site layouts, room layouts, constructive details, preliminary structural calculations, cost estimates, feasibility studies, technical reports, technical specifications).
  • Coordinate with other trades (mainly process, mechanical and electrical engineering) to guarantee best project quality.
  • Interact with clients, CAD engineers, subject matter experts and suppliers to ensure a successful planning and execution of civil works.
  • Implement quality control measures for structural integrity, safety, and adherence to timelines.
  • Lead sub-projects and work packages.

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (civil or building engineering).
  • Extensive experience as a civil or building engineer within one or more of the following sectors: energy generation and conversion plants, industrial plants and facilities.
  • Knowledge on constructive engineering with steel and concrete structures.
  • Knowledge of local building codes (Bauordnung für Wien) preferred.
  • Knowledge of fire protection standards preferred.
  • Experience on assessing existing building structures.
  • Experience in concept development, cost estimation, technical specifications, site supervision.
  • Deep passion for driving positive environmental impact through innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
  • Showcase effective teamwork ability within interdisciplinary integrated project teams.
  • Excellent English language skills, German language skills are a bonus.
  • AutoCAD proficient and/or expertise in similar software within a BIM environment.

  • Ensure adherence to pressure equipment directive, codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Cover all project phases (concept design, preliminary design, procurement, supervision of detail design, site supervision and commissioning).
  • Contribute to project deliverables (process flow diagrams, instrumentation diagrams, material choice, equipment design and layouts, suppliers lists, cost estimates, interface definitions, layout proposals, feasibility studies, technical reports, technical specifications)
  • Coordinate with other trades (mainly mechanical, electrical and civil engineering) to guarantee best project quality.
  • Interact with clients and suppliers to ensure a successful project execution.
  • Lead work packages.

For this role, it would be beneficial to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering (process, chemical or mechanical engineering, energy or industrial energy systems).
  • Practical experience as a process engineer within one or more of the following sectors: energy conversion, generation and distribution infrastructure, chemical plants, refineries, industrial plants and facilities.
  • Practical knowledge of thermodynamics, chemical processes, storage and handling of chemical products in gas and liquid form, fluid mechanics, pressure equipment directive.
  • Experience in concept development, specifications of mechanical services and systems, site supervision, and commissioning.
  • Experience in designing components and systems aiming at generating, storing and distributing heat, cooling energy, steam, hydrogen, compressed air, gases or any other carriers.
  • Deep passion for driving positive environmental impact through innovative and sustainable energy solutions
  • Showcase effective teamwork ability within interdisciplinary integrated project teams.

As Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be a key player in the execution of projects crucial to decarbonization of Vienna by 2040, such as:

  • Modernisation of existing energy production facilities (e.g. upgrading a waste incineration plant on the basis of the circular economy)
  • Construction of new alternative energy generation plants (e.g. biomass, wind farm, geothermal etc)
  • Hydrogen production or application (e.g. construction of hydrogen production facilities)
  • Combined generation plants for heating and cooling energy as well as electricity (e.g. either construction or modernisation of existing plant for combined generation of electricity, heating and cooling energy such as natural gas and renewable energy sources)

  • Design and specify low and medium voltage electrical systems for new and existing industrial plants and facilities contributing to the energy transition and the circular economy.
  • Design and specify control systems: concept, topology, functional description, instrumentation.
  • Integrate advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency of electrical components.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Cover all project phases (concept design, preliminary design, procurement, site supervision and commissioning).
  • Contribute to project deliverables (consumers list, instrument list, standard product catalogue, functional descriptions, single line diagrams, cable routing drawings, specifications)
  • Coordinate with other trades (mainly process, mechanical and civil engineering) to guarantee best project quality.
  • Interact with clients and suppliers to ensure a successful project execution.

  • Master degree in electrical engineering or technical school (HTL).
  • Practical experience as an electrical engineer within one or more of the following sectors: power generation, power distribution, infrastructure, industrial plants and facilities.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, power train, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Experience in concept development, specifications of electrical systems, site supervision and commissioning.
  • Optional experience in design of high-voltage transmission and switchgear components.

Als Elektrotechniker (m/w/d) - Projektleiter arbeiten Sie an verschiedenen Projekten im Rahmen der Energiewende mit dem Ziel der Dekarbonisierung der Stadt Wien bis 2040 mit, wie z.B.:

  • Modernisierung bestehender Energieerzeugungsanlagen (z.B. Aufrüstung einer Müllverbrennungsanlage auf Basis der Kreislaufwirtschaft)
  • Bau neuer alternativer Energieerzeugungsanlagen (z. B. Biomasse, Windpark, Geothermie usw.)
  • Wasserstoffproduktion oder -anwendung (z. B. Bau von Wasserstoffproduktionsanlagen)
  • Kombinierte Erzeugungsanlagen für Wärme- und Kälteenergie sowie Elektrizität (z. B. Bau oder Modernisierung bestehender Anlagen zur kombinierten Erzeugung von Elektrizität, Wärme- und Kälteenergie wie Erdgas und erneuerbare Energiequellen)
  • Abfallerzeugung und -bewirtschaftung (z. B. Bau von Recyclinganlagen, Anlagen zur Behandlung von Klärschlamm und Phosphorrückgewinnung).

Aufgaben und Zuständigkeiten:

  • Umsetzung von Modernisierungen inkl. Projektmanagement.
  • Unterstützung der Betriebssteuerung in allen Belangen des Performancemanagements und Betriebsweise der Anlagen.
  • Teilnahme an internen und externen Audits.
  • Laufende Überprüfung der Einhaltung der zugewiesenen gesetzlichen, behördlichen sowie unternehmensinternen Auflagen und Richtlinien der zugewiesenen elektrischen Anlagen.
  • Erstellung von Stellungnahmen und Expertisen sowie effektive Schnittstellenfunktion zwischen Betriebsführung, Technikabteilung und Anlagenservice inklusive Austausch und Koordinierung mit dem Netzbetreiber.
  • Beurteilung des laufenden Betriebs elektrischer Schaltanlagen in den Nieder-, Mittel-, und Hochspannungsebenen sowie Erkennung von Abweichungen zum Sollzustand, Ursachenforschung.
  • Wahrnehmung der Anlagenverantwortung für die zugewiesenen elektrischen Anlagen.
  • Planung, Dokumentation, Abstimmung und Durchführung von elektrotechnischen Anlagenänderungen und Anlagenerneuerungen, gemeinsam mit internen und externen Partner*innen, inkl. Budgetermittlung und Überwachung.
  • Planung und Durchführung von Schwarzstartversuchen im Kraftwärmekopplungsbereich in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Netzbetreiber sowie aktives Mitwirken beim Ausarbeiten der Schwarzstartkonzepte und Erhalt der Schwarzstartfähigkeit der Kraftwerksanlagen.
  • Sicherstellung der organisatorisch/technisch/wirtschaftlich optimierten Betriebsführung der zugewiesenen elektrischen Anlagen.
  • Budgetplanung und Sicherstellung der Einhaltung vorgegebener Betriebsbudgets.
